How Nationalism, Imperialism and Marxism shaped Europe in the Modern Age, 1800-present

Europe is viewed as a continent that has progressed across the globe. Apparently, improvements that incorporate good technology and lifestyle may not be accomplished easily based on the perspective of the current generation. Furthermore, when these activities were in progress, individuals did not take them seriously. Instead, they opposed them

The concept of nationalism gave rise to key political alterations in Europe. During the 19th century period, the continent had strong opposition that facilitated changes. They include the French, Belgian and the Serbian revolutions. In early 1800, politics transformed when leaders concentrated on national identities rather that tribal ways of recognition (Lenin 17-21). Their major aim was to safeguard the interests and welfare of their citizens.

Additionally, the aspect of imperialism shed a positive light in Europe. This is clear when it boosted the growth of economies. For instance, imperialists initiated and advanced technology to aid citizens in achieving their objectives in society. Imperialism became utilized in fresh territories. As a result, it enhanced effectiveness in leadership, which was evident when imperialist adopted the local structure of administration.  Majority of local individuals supported imperialism to promote development from outside boundaries.

Due to imperialism, Europe became the most organized continent. The benefits of imperialism were that it ensured only the territories benefited from its economic gains and not foreign nations.  Marxism is a concept that was responsible for social justice across Europe. In 19th century, there was rise in social classes that created a huge gap between the rich and the poor. As a result, the Marxism movement formulated equality in supply of wealth. This was useful because it benefited all citizens in society regardless of their class. Clearly, Marxism, nationalism and imperialism are moves that have enhanced great progress in Europe.
