Johnson Controls is a global organization with its headquarters based in Wisconsin, United States. The company offers employment to many people in different locations across six continents. Regarding the vision of the company, the board members had a meeting to strategize on the next way forward and on January 25, 2016, Johnson announced a partnership with Tyco International to form Johnson Controls International that played a crucial role in the avoidance of taxes of the foreign market.

Johnson Controls International is an American multinational company with other corporations engaged in different businesses that fall under it producing commodities such as batteries, electronics, and technology for indoor purposes in a suitable environment. The company deals with products such air systems, which generate the flow of air in buildings resulting to a healthy environment. It also takes part in building automated systems while dealing with insightful, intelligent technology that helps to know the condition of a building as these devices analyze data stating how to make improvements. A portfolio has been offered where flooded lead acid batteries are used to cover a huge range of vehicles. Every battery is made to meet a specific need of the customers to produce quality goods.

Johnson Controls is recognized as the world’s most ethical company for a compendium and a strong culture of integrity that has been in existence for several years now. Ethisphere came up with the decision of relegating and choosing the best companies when it comes to those that uphold ethical standards, and among this, Johnson Controls International was outstanding. The criterion used to pick the ethics award winner was based on the ethics and compliance program 35 percent, corporate citizenship responsibility 20 percent, a culture of ethics 20 percent, governance 15 percent, as well as leadership, innovation and reputation 10 percent.

Johnson Controls International strongly advocates for integrity, customer satisfaction, sustainability, employee engagement, and innovation (Jennings 207). Johnson Inc’s values have shaped the company’s consistency where customers are served by the company’s vendors who not only have integrity but respond to clients effectively and when an issue arises addressing the same with a lot of satisfaction. Therefore, it should be noted that the company makes a lasting impression to customers. Bearing in mind the products and services rendered, there has been interdependence in the working community and environment, and this has been a vital tool to the success of the company (Johari, Zuraidah, and Vincent 40). With great candor, customers have been able to rank the company with high regards, and because of consistency in what the company stands for, Ethisphere has unquestionably considered the company a performer.

Johnson Controls International has a moral obligation of ensuring that economic and legal perspectives are accommodated in the society. The economic, legal, philanthropic and ethical components are diverse as are all applicable to the company. The ethical responsibility of Johnson Controls is to do the right thing even when the whole world does not do the same. Every individual is treated with fairness and dignity, and there is an extensive freedom of expression whenever there is a feeling of an ethics violation. Besides, the company’s management hardly tolerates threats and intimidations from within and outside the company.  Regarding the legal responsibility, the company complies with the rule law in every country in which it carries out its operations, and the achievement of this relies on its corroboration with lawyers who speak on their behalf (Macfarlane, Jingjing, and Annie 343). The company obeys what the rule stands for and follows it to the latter and the economic responsibility of the company is to do business and make a profit in the right manner. Johnson Controls International contributes to society’s projects. This has improved efficiency as far as operations are concerned and have also lowered costs making the company save more (Johnson and Nils 450).  This responsibility requires the business person to do some things which stem from generosity towards the community in which they exist.

There was a difference on how Johnson Controls International presented themselves on social platforms. Since the company has its grounding, it is important to acknowledge that just as people are not perfect, the same applies to organizations (Oladinrin and Christabel 1198). The website has painted a picture that the company has no faults. Another observation from the company’s website is that they have placed information in brief whereas in some cases they made referrals for further knowledge.

Ethisphere is a world leading organization that defines and advances ethical standards of business that enhance corporate character, trust, and success of business. Taking into consideration the consistency of work over the years, the rubric of companies like Johnson Controls has virtually been maintained. In the organization, there is qualified expertise who measure and define core ethical standards that assist companies to bring about corporate character, integrity, and transparency in the organization. The organization offers a couple of opportunities for both individuals and companies to come on board and discuss on matters having a tentative plan.

As much Johnson Controls International has its weaknesses, its strengths remain evident. It is important to know how the company runs and whether it is politically influenced. Given the numerous strengths of the company and the significant strides it has made in the global economic environment over the years, there is a possibility that the ethics award given to the company for its role in upholding ethical standards was warranted.
