For a supervisory relationship to be efficient, it has to incorporate three traits that are vital. They range from mutual reward theory (MRT), availability of emoticon and two way of communication. It is essential for all relationships to incorporate two way form of relaying a message. This relationship has further improved through an interchange of nonverbal and verbal symbols that are expressed by all parties involved.

To enhance a supervisory relationship that is real, individuals must learn how to share ideas. It depicts the power of words via speaking. It also implies that a supervisory connection requires an atmosphere that is characterized by two way feedback. According to the mutual reward theory, an efficient exchange reward upgrades the association between the worker and his supervisor (Kilminster and Jolly 829). For instance, an individual who is in charge of supervision can permit his staff to operate under limited supervision and disruption.

Furthermore, the supervisor ensures that an employee is part of decision making to provide his opinion. On his contribution, the worker has a responsibility of ensuring that he coordinates well with his colleagues at work. This is through enhancing dependability that could foster increase in personal performance. In this form of exchange, both the manager and the employee benefits in their relationship. Clearly, the worker becomes content when he delivers high quality work. Equally, the supervisor improves his skills in guiding and supporting workers.

In any organizational setting, trust becomes violated and this affects the supervisory link in a negative manner. The availability of emoticon is essential to boost the relationship. This implies that emotions must be involved. In a given situation, the supervisor and the worker requires showing each other deep emotions. This subjects relationship at work to be difficult to deal with. This implies that in annoying situations, both parties need to control their emotions to enhance their relationship.
