The case study depicts the kind of complex family situation that social workers might encounter in direct practice roles across various fields of practice. Your analysis and written response to the case study will be informed by your knowledge of discourses and theories influencing social work practice (as detailed in the modules). Discuss one social work practice theory (from within those covered in the unit content), outlining its key elements and identifying its applicability to the case Provide a conclusion that summarises your analysis and draws together the discursive and theoretical insights Assessments will be marked according to the following criteria: Analysis of the case study from the position of two discourses (15 marks) Application of a social work theory to the case study (15 marks) Academic skills (writing, referencing and use of supporting literature) (10 marks) Total: 40 marks/40% The criteria correspond to the detailed marking rubric provided.
