Planning for Infant and Toddler Environments
Environments for infants and toddlers are extremely important to their growth and development.
The room arrangement and the materials available has a significant impact to this development.
For this assignment the focus will be on the environments for infants and toddlers based on your
knowledge of best practices and what is included in infant and toddler environments. Follow the
prompts below to complete this assignment and responses must be specific and detailed to
receive maximum credit. The assignment should be double space and use standard margins
and font.
Part 1:
If you were setting up an infant classroom and toddler classroom, how would you set up each
environment? Consider the furniture and materials that would be available. Then briefly share
why you chose the furniture and materials for each environment; how do they foster children’s
growth and development? The infant and toddler environments should be done separately.
Please label each environment.
Part 2:
Thinking about the developmental domains, such as motor, social, cognitive, language, etc.,
what are two activities you could plan for infants and two activities for toddlers? Include what
materials you would need for each activity and one objective learning goal for each activity?
This needs to be a well-thought-through answer.
