The platform has thrived hand in hand with the advance in technology, which has resulted to development of mobile phones that allows wide online connection with people .Access to internet is up to now limited to some groups depending on their preference to use it. An attempt by women to raise concern on the change of a UK note picture (put a woman instead of Queen) was met with a negative criticism on social media,

Or stopping the appearance of a topless woman on a newspaper, have met death threats as well as rape on social media.

What can be the connection between feminism and social media? The more feminist become present and visible on the platform, its feared that social media may not be able to create certain construction and repel others and the depth at which it occurs is a topic that needs to be discussed by academics and the people who use technology more often.

While I focus on social media, It should be noted that there is also chauvinism both online and offline. Internet usage is a gendered space though differently to the offline. Gender issue do appear periodically on the social media, as and when they show up, they are often fished instantly. This people sums up the all the very important points that includes the embarrassment of people and technology leaned towards power, ideology and the market place. It’s argued by readers and scholars that the cyberspace offers a fourth way for feminist practice and this has created feminist counter in public. Online space can be alternatively seen as the post-feminist one which ideas are shared and radical clarification is made as well. Irrespective of this, social media content creators has embarked on drafting more interesting topics to lure more readers such as commentators, researchers and journalists. The access of social media on mobile devices on a daily basis has clearly brought out the differences between online and offline, this explains the possibility to do feminist by use of online space as well as activism within the society. It’s crucial to note that digital platform helps to spread feminist ideas and create awareness about chauvinism and gender. This spreads to different counties and may trigger emerging of protest. Youth feminism through social media has raised concern and postfeminist lens is necessary to show a distinctive but contradictory view linked to liberalism, basing focus on individual and agency. The fact that many feminist activities that occurs on the social media platform draws their ideas on postfeminist philosophies. We are left to question whether we are still in post feminism or we are moving from it due to fourth wave of social media activism this is a debatable matter. Amongst the important topics addressed shows the significance of social media into areas such as relationship, sport and education; and points out their contribution to activism and identification of individuals. This paper has tried to shade light on the invitation of hope on the future of social media and has shown the difficulties experienced in the use of digital platform and the alarming way in which morality is raised on this platform.

Researchers or community members who happens to be feminist need to be aware of the connection created between structured systems and individual. Feminism has been looked into in this special paper by using data from the UK by engaging the extraordinary and the ordinary and encouraging them to share self-preservative tinda post in order to expose rape routine and transform from not only education but also digital activism. The huge data is possibly collected from; Facebook, Instagram posts, twitter, crowd sourced posts and vlogging.

The descriptions gathered from the above sources may be distressing and may trigger anger and humor so it’s better to be prepared to feel and read so as to know whether women create content or are a subject of discussion social media unwillingly. This paper will show the power of social media in mobilizing and educating a huge audience. It will raise moral and lawful question concerning the online information; who is the owner? How can it be used? And by who? In what ways and for what purpose.

An issue of a female athlete trying to explore ways in which they can represent themselves on social media has come into lime light. The scholars tries to demonstrate how women does it for themselves by loving themselves and empowering themselves as well. This was done by creating individual social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook) the female used this platform to tackle commercialized social media marketplace as a result finishing the lines between the woman and the product. This transformation size of communication digitally to provide a different story about feminism is questionable.

Teenage girls are addressed, they identifies themselves as feminist because of the use of social media to advocate their feminist notions. They include the importance of the use of platform, and how it connects to their everyday lives. As a digital market place, social media generates income by sharing content, apparently, users use pornographic contents extracted from the previous relationship, such sharing is meant to victimize the female participant of this practice. The perpetrator hides their identity but this site allows them to display their content which censures women and make them content. This study settles the majority of women fatalities in that it reinforces male-controlled relations.

The issue of male controlled marketplace has further been explored by scholars on tinder .Dating sites tend create a platform where heterosexist and gendered discourses harass women. This hostility towards women places them under watch than ever before, and allow them to state whether they are available for a relationship or not. Sites such as Tinder are used by user to shade light on the hidden mistreatment on women that’s occurring on the dating sites. Unwanted Pictures of abuse and screens hots are shared widely to show how male dominated marketplace plays out. The researcher brings out woman in two categories, the one who doesn’t want to be seen as hot (Fatty) the other one is whose consent has been consulted. As much as sharing this humorous content can help it’s also of essence to politicize such mistreatment.

In this study, I will focus my concentration on twitter and rape, and will cross check the high case of rape across America. Twitter can be used to encourage digital activism because of its configuration, its anonymity makes it more perfect and powerful and unique. To expose the black side of social media, this research will shows how rape can be exposed by tweets and retweets hence encouraging its resistance. It is seen that the pattern of tweets, retweets of a certain hashtag blaming the victim. The tweets in which the victim is accused for her rape have huge followers than those supporting the victim .This enables to raise the rape culture discussion. To add on this, shaming tweets from sluts were retweeted than those in supportive of the victim, this way of creating news through twitter has made a single victim blame to reach thousands hence it’s important to examine impact has this have both online and offline within a huge margin of chauvinism.

Digital platform as successful worked as a fourth way of practice of feminist as advocated by a commentary on political actions. Labor offered in digital platform is often unpaid and the space is always full. Possibility of shouting back against chauvinism exists. Social media campaign against feminism is seen as political activities which adds to social associations. The use of tweets and shouts has been widely used. This study explores the impact of campaigns such as #feminist movement,

In another study named as free nipple campaign done in Iceland, through analyzing media in the digital public domain, this movement takes “free” the sharp point of a breast from its pornographic site and ladies uploading photographs of their own titties. The question arise whether being connected digitally can boost feminist togetherness. By use of social media, activist have successful liberated the victims.

There is a possibility that social media can be used in education has proofed working, Accounts are created to see how social media will function inside health knowledge. This study shows how education and programming that is started and followed through turns out to be an essential practice. Few counties in The Us for instance requires sexual education coordination, a web has been created to in the online platform to steer this and provide a substitute curriculum, and this has allowed researchers and educators to be connected worldwide.

The development of the digital market are simply increasing day by day thus increasing the allowance of access to online sphere in a temporary way. A mobile app by the name snapchat allows active users to capture videos and photos in a short time. This way of posting adolescence associated product possess question towards intimidation. It should be remembered that snapchat would best work in shaming the sluts, affection and general friendship. This platform used for messaging is hard to research on but produces understanding by which youths associate themselves with technology. The drastic change in technology can as well be used to engage in activism and foster education. There has been some documentary and research to unearth what is happening on social media and theories explaining both feminism and psychology. They try and answer whether we are old fashioned feminist, digital feminist, or new to ideas concerning feminism, previous feminist among others. It’s important that we scrutinize events and content on developing social broadcasting platform, this will contribute to an essential argument and will consider the openings that are provided by such platforms. This issue is just a meagre in the debate of this paper, I am aware that not all voices might have come out clearly during the writing of this study, Therefore it’s wise to agree that research on social media activism should be done deeply in order to acquire a deeper knowledge of social media.

A research on memes showcases the confusing of both connected and disconnected spheres. Putting focus on an insufficiently researched paper of an internet meme .It talks about women sexism while targeting women who are technologically elite. This is a space perceived to have shown feminism to be more absent than it should be present. Basing their argument on a meme, the researcher shows the subject of technical freedom where men dominate the leading submissive sexualized female. This platform uses humor to engage active users and this paper sort to know whether it can be antifeminist platform.

Transnational Feminism.

This is closely related to the ideas of journalism theory which originates from the need to create feminist dispute in relation to a discussion about globalization that’s has been done for over twenty years .It elaborates the effect that globalization has had on women. The central effect to this theory is that most feminists tend to politicize female issues beyond their state. An example is given where feminist are making a virtual movement by the use of internet through twitter, the aim being to show how global unification is more significant than identity.

Social Networking

Since activism has been based on network, the internet has served an important role for those with causes to air their grievances. Therefore cyber activism relies on the internet to politically motivate undertaking with the aim of attaining a common goal. Generally it falls under three categories; advocacy, mobilization, and reaction.

Social Networking Websites Activism

It has provided a space for action offline as witnessed in several protests, However it has been described as unsuccessful in propagating activism .A revolution done early named as twitter revolution used by activists has been largely criticized by scholars studying the area. An example is cited when protesters took to the streets in Moldova protesting against socialist government in the year 2008.This action commonly known as twitter movement has elicited diverging argument that in a country with little or no twitter understanding, it had much to do with elite collaboration in the succession politics than any other social media.

Cyber Feminism

Is a term which was devised twenty five years ago and is largely used to describe the ideas of the feminist community who are more into the internet and cyberspace? This simply the activities of feminist in the internet. This theory is burdened with problems which has led to its replacement by another theory referred to as networked women’s liberation. This theory portrays the internet as a space free from outdated limitation such as sex variance. It highlights technology as a tool to dissolute masculinity and femininity. Anyone who has used the internet can argue that it’s not a free space as commonly seen This is particularly true based on women rights which faces a lot of opposition in the space. This shows that the internet has not been safe for women, they face an equal judgement whether connected or disconnected

Networked Feminism

This the fight against sexism using the internet as platform to channel their views. This new and evolving occurrence has successfully engaged women from all sorts of lives. It’s a term normally used to elaborate the powers that feminist possess in the usage of online platform to air their grievances then make sure that they are heard. This association cannot be used to define only one set of feminist. In a presidential debate a question was posed by a random voter regarding inequalities experienced in the labor station, the response went viral on twitter by feminist to highlight sexism weight it had.

Feminism of Intersection

This is an area of study that believes that women should be recognized and subjective not only through gender but also their sexuality and race. In case one ignores differentiating women based on    this, it may cause strain amongst the community. Availability of women to work together has opened up   for different groups of feminist to unite together.

How Social Media Has Boosted Feminist Message

Since the beginning of the women’s rights association which stays believed to have happened in the nineteenth century feminism has gone through a drastic change because it started as a right for a woman to vote and has transformed into a biggest movement of persons

Today’s feminist activists base their issues on disability, culture, race among others.

The growth of the feminist movement has been realized through social media, an example of Facebook which is worldwide known has brought the movement intact and has eased communication, for instance real time update of burning issues are posted and followers will always react and comment on the same in real time. A study has since shown that sharing personal stories would possibly reduce stress especially in ladies which means talking in social media is better for our health.

Twitter for instance works miracle while sharing stories in real time, it uses hash tag which is its power and has been used by feminist to share stories and gain roots in the outside world. It’s as simple as browsing #feminist to get fully enlightened. The hashtag explodes in quickly and reaches a huge number of people within the shortest time possible. By speaking through social media women are able to take back the control that was deprived from them or restore a situation that otherwise seemed hopeless.

Women gain a voice through social media, sometimes women are silenced by their spouses and the only place to express themselves comfortably and safely is in the digital platform. A physically disabled girl who finds that her issues are handled only is at liberty to share her plea. By use of hash tags, feminist issues have been brought into spotlight by quoting we will be heard and we are here.

Development of Feminism in Social Media

It is argued that feminist movement is in the midst of its robust revolution and has empowered millions of women than ever before thus liberating them from oppression and outdated beliefs. The shift aimed at encouraging women rights did not come by chance, it’s due to the fourth trend of feminism which is argued to be well underway. This an enormous social advancement which has been contributed by social media.

No one could have thought twenty years ago that tweeting could channel political agendas or Facebooking could be used to communicate to a larger audience. It’s plainly seen that the way people converse about social justice is completely changed and that there exist a lot of feminist related articles online now than it was years back. Much as feminism is perceived as political tool, it has become more stylish and equable than ever.

Years back it was very hard to find feminist media, it was only available to only the educated category of people who were able to buy written articles. Nowadays, they are all over the internet, all you need to do is to search on google, alternatively log on to Facebook and it’s actually likely that a friend friend might have shared and you will see it.

The use of social media has enabled users to blog on equal grounds with numerous publications, celebrities share information on equal grounds as normal people. The platform has also made it possible for feminist association to change the way people reason and has enabled to challenge prejudice. For instance if someone abuses a woman publicly, then a video bearing the same will be uploaded and be viewed by millions of viewers who has a stake in the incident.

In the analysis of the above research, it vital to note that social media is globally recognized and used. Women all over the world have embarked on social media to air their grievances. Twitter for activism, Facebook for activism and Instagram for activism as well. Amongst all, twitter stand a chance as it uses the hash tag and goes viral within a few seconds and it has proofed to be global due to its nature of being accessible to the world.

Despite the social media being globally, other women have not made maximum use of the platform for activism, it’s not that there is a huge gap in demographic of women who use social media as an instrument of activism. Social media has proofed to empower women but it still remain a question of research where the internet is poor.

Women matters are globalized as seen in the global theory, they exceed the national limits, and hence the failure of representation of all categories of women should not be a topic of discussion. It should be noted that women practice the same type of harassment everywhere in the world. As seen above, it’s not real to conclude that the harassment experienced in Japan is the same seen in US. Women worldwide have access to social media which they use to make their views heard. Women issues might be global but the means they employ in fighting oppression are completely different.

In Africa for instance, the notion that the prime factor of woman is to be a kitchen tool has been outdated, Todays women has ganged up through the social media to liberate themselves from such. They own gadget connected to internet and has successful mobilized activism to liberate themselves

The aim of the above study was to scrutinize the role of social media on ladies and feminist family seeing it as a form of activism, by trying to answer several investigative questions addressing this topic.

Through analysis and wide collection of data and from going through journals articles I can draw a conclusion that most women are in use of Facebook, twitter, Instagram, hangouts amongst others; as an instrument of politicking widely in all developed states. Women uses social media in activism that requires less effort for instant validation of requests. Ladies have used social media to channel their own judgment and discuss matters within their confine but also issues outside their rich.

The insinuation of the above activism was at some point done offline. The various activism projects that women engaged in had an optimistic outcome and were created offline effect, It should be noted that the venture that were looked at was a new  idea, and it will be of great expectation to witness how this project progress in the future.

This involvement was worldwide, some of the social media projects were working concurrently I different states at once. And women from numerous countries were able to share ideas through social media on the same issues affecting them regardless of their location. Moreover, the use of social media is limited to only those ladies who are elite, able to read and write. it should be noted that reading and writing is a key requirement for one to be able to use social media.

To sum up, this paper has several loopholes that require thorough research, for instance, I strongly see a conk attachment between women matters and negative politics and this will raise an interesting area of research and elaboration. Involving women in important decision making as well adding their number in employment sector would be a positive step to take. Activism and feminist is just a new issue and can be prone to changes, therefore further analysis will bring out a very clear of what feminist social media world is all about
