Improve Employee Satisfaction
How to improve the job satisfaction of employees? A simple question to ask, but that seems difficult to implement. Your employees are the cornerstone of your business. It is they who bring the boat from point A to point B. It is therefore important to think about the well-being of these and specially to know their tastes, desires and passions. The more you learn about them, the more you will be able to find a winning and optimal solution.
Initiatives to increase the satisfaction of your employees at work
Employee engagement is largely based on emotions. You must create an environment conducive to professional development and especially personal. Indeed, employees in such an environment tend to go further in their work and offer added value in everything they undertake (Spector, 2015). An idea for mobilizing a work team would be to set up a certain recognition program. By offering a reward for their efforts, your employees will excel more in achieving the goal that has been set.
Communication is a key element of your employees’ satisfaction at work. Open communication based on collaboration creates a stimulating atmosphere and encourages exchanges between employees. There are a lot of tools for you to facilitate exchanges: project and team management software, instant messaging (also called “chat”), internal newsletters, among others.
First of all, find out about the communication preferences of employees. This will allow you to build a system that fits with your company culture.
Involve Your Employees
Your employees must feel good about the company, but also useful. Your business is a project in itself and should be exploited to its full potential.
There are a thousand and one ways to involve your employees and give them the chance to develop new skills.
Ensure the Well-Being of Your Troops
Well-being at work often involves the psychological dimension of employees. Evidence of recognition, a simple smile in the morning, a compliment or just active listening are factors that can have an impact. However, do not neglect the physical health and financial health of your employees. Make sure your employees have peace of mind by offering a group insurance plan that includes medical and salary insurance benefits or a pension plan. Know that there are different ways to ensure the physical, mental and financial health of your employees and their families.
Self-realization is found at the top of the Maslow pyramid. That’s why some employees are driven by a strong desire to learn and grow. By giving your employees the chance to train, you give them the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and specialize in what they really love (Tomaževič, Seljak, & Aristovnik, 2014). Obviously, it’s a win-win solution for your employees as well as for your business, which, of course, can benefit from learning.
“Feedback” is a form of recognition when it is well presented. Try to give positive feedback on the work of your employees. Indeed, satisfaction requires constructive and bilateral dialogue (Kalleberg, 2015). You could discover the issues facing an employee or the positive aspects he or she liked about the last project.
In good management practices, feedback should be:
- Several times;
In addition, do not forget to follow up with your employees following the feedback provided. In this way, you will be able to provide them with all the support needed to help them improve and you will be able to demonstrate the importance given to the role of everyone in the company.
Emphasize the Collective and Individual Effort
Your company is in the running for a prestigious award? She is mentioned in the local newspaper as a model company? You have just acquired a major new customer? All the reasons are good for emphasizing everyone’s participation and effort within the organization (Thompson & Phua, 2012). So, how could you announce the good news?
Here are some ideas:
- Organize a restaurant outing or a small reception;
- Plan a 5-7 with all members of your organization;
- Write a personalized thank you to everyone and signed.
If you would like to congratulate an employee who stood out, there are a multitude of ways to communicate your appreciation and appreciation. In the end, no matter what you choose to do for the occasion, know that it is often the small details that make all the difference.
Encourage Team Spirit
Team spirit is as important as mobilizing your resources. Since it is collaborative work, it is imperative to have a positive energy that passes between the members (Moorman, 2017). It is therefore important to have excellent communication and good tools to ensure good team synergy. However, teamwork also means conflict and friction.
Make sure you take the necessary steps to respond to any problems. In addition, insist that you be informed; this will allow you to act more quickly.
Too often, an unresolved conflict that lasts can cause a lot of inconvenience and become very important. That’s why it’s important to communicate to your employees the importance of communicating, both in the good and the bad.
Your employees’ satisfaction always comes from the top. That is, every decision you
