Socio-cultural factors that influence a person’s choice of diet including norms and taboos towards consumption of certain foods. This are that set laws and policies within a country state or nation that regulate people’s dietary patterns and practices
Prevention Strategies for:
Children Nutrition education to promote knowledge and influence food choices targeting parents or family members availing of healthy snacks schools, Waiver of norms that could potentially affect the children’s health and diet.  School curriculum that allow for nutrition education.
Adolescents Promoting good attitude towards proper dietary practices peer programs to promote awareness. encouraging more physical activities and healthy snacking. promote social equality between groups in the society Creating awareness on the food policies put in place by the state.
