of benefits following the current increased technology adoption across the globe.
Strategy Analysis
The innovative technology illustrates Alibaba’s proper planning techniques through its ability to
innovate a feature that solves customers’ needs. For instance, the company has Enterprise-Class
Internet Architecture cloud platform for Alibaba enterprises such as Tmall and Taobao, among
others. The service is strategically planned to place cloud infrastructures and hardware and
software resources through the diversified business portfolio. In 2016, the structure enabled the
corporate to generate 17.8 billion dollars in sales in the Double 11 global shopping festival
(“Alibaba Targets the Global”). Furthermore, the service enhances industrial operations
efficiency by narrowing the gap between the end-users with the production or service firms. The
company, therefore, used proper planning to manage to integrate diverse firms with a platform
that can fasten production and increase customer satisfaction at the same time. Thus, innovation

leadership management created a unique technology through proper planning to suit the current
competitive environment with features that influences consumer purchase.
The Enterprise-Class Internet Architecture also demonstrates the company’s proper team
management, though it would have done better to open the portfolio for other companies outside
the Alibaba Group. The successful company integration of different employees with similar
goals to achieve corporate objectives enabled it to create a successful service. The project leaders
managed to implement the innovation for the different Alibaba’s enterprises because of
compelling business goals with members that understood the concept. Due to quality leadership
and a unified team, the firm managed to rectify a technical hitch in 2008 innovatively without
losing consumer data. The team used a shared service layer with different service entities
including payment, inventory, and logistics, among others. Consequently, the group can build a
new business from scratch and remain in operation, therefore not losing customers over
technological problems. However, the technology is highly concentrated for Alibaba
enterprise’s, which limits its productivity. They could have done better by including features for
other companies to expand their market capacity locally and internationally.
If I were part of the planning and management team, I would have used a functional team
structure to achieve better results with the product. I could have integrated the engineering
manufacturing and marketing departments through a working-level team. Each cluster would
have concentrated on its expertise and sequentially moved the innovation process from one
department to the other. Consequently, while the manufacturing teams and engineering ones
focused on the technical part, the marketing team would have researched the ways to market the
service globally. Currently, the company would have sold the innovation to other companies
with similar business initiatives and increased its market share significantly.
