Technology is used to solve many problems that human beings encounter in their day to day activities. Robot technology is one type of technology that is used in many industries around the world. Robot technology is used in many sectors, for instance, security, education, manufacturing industries and many others. Robot technology has helped to advance educational opportunities, address security challenges, improve communication, and improve transportation thus solving many problems that faced human beings in the recent past. Robots are one of the greatest invention of our time because of their positive impact in various sectors which has helped to boost the economies of many countries


Technology is a tool that is used to enhance the performance of people among a variety of endeavors in the whole world. The Modern lifestyle of human beings is permeated and affected by numerous technological changes which range from modalities of transportation to the wonders of electronic communications (Meizi, Liu, et al 32). Today, people are born and brought up in an environment full of various technologies, for instance, a new born child’s record of pulse is as a result of modern technology. Technology has come with many benefits which has made life easier in the modern society unlike it was in ancient times.  In the early 1960’s the world was introduced to the first ever supercomputer making it easier to perform complex tasks within a short time. Robots are being used to solve problems in many fields, for instance, medicine, manufacturing, security, education, among others. Modern technologies are used to advance educational opportunities, address security challenges, improve communication, and improve transportation among other sectors of the economy. This essay analyzes the most vital technology that has been used to solve problems in the contemporary society.

Robot Technology

A robot is a reprogrammable machine that is used to perform certain tasks in the contemporary society that human beings cannot perform in an effective way. After the invention of the computer, there were great advances in robotic technology and the quality of robot manufacturing and thus improving the productivity and quality standards.  Faster and cheaper computer processors have made robots to be able to perform more complicated actions quicker and at a less expensive price than in the past. Robotics can be used in many areas ranging from food and beverage to manufacturing and assembly industries, for instance, they can prepare food and stack it in boxes, lay bricks, drive cars, dispense medication and keep the elderly company at home (Aho 24). Today robots are doing many things that human beings cannot do and do not want to do and in many cases taking away human labor.

Robot technology is one of the most crucial technologies in the modern society because it can be used to solve many problems. Robots can be used in many fields in solving problems that arise as a result of human errors that have been rampant in the recent past. Robots carry execute many tasks in a manner that is socially acceptable, comfortable and effective for people that they share the environment and interact with. Robots have the ability to sense and perform tasks which are complex and difficult unlike human beings who fail to effectively perform certain tasks in extreme circumstances. They are also able to act with immediate effect as compared to human beings who have difficulties and varied skills and thus many companies are implementing robotics in their manufacturing and assembling processes. The use of robots in modern industries has helped to increase profits because they help to lower the cost of production. The costs that are incurred when human beings are used to perform some tasks are reduced because robots perform such tasks faster and in an effective way. The robot technology is used to solve problems and address challenges that affect people for the reason that they are smart. Robots have taken over roles that are performed by human beings because people have put all their faith in technology.

Robots in the Security Industry

Robots are used to address security challenges which face human beings in the contemporary society. The use of robot technology in the security industry has helped to execute and tackle problems that could not be effectively tackled in the past due to extreme security challenges. Robots are used to move dangerous materials from one place to another as well as executing dangerous missions which human beings could not be effectively performed by human beings. They are used to evacuate causalities from dangerous places like collapsed buildings and buildings that have been bombed with dangerous chemicals. Robots also collect intelligence and relay it to programmers, the information is crucial because it can be used by security actors to formulate policies. They are used to provide security in places which are considered to be hostile and cannot be accessed by people, for instance, security actors. Conflicts and natural disasters make some areas to be inaccessible to human beings and thus robots can easily penetrate such areas and provide services. They are also used to provide early warning and help deter aggression in places that are affected by armed conflict and natural disasters. In the near future, robots will be enlisted as soldiers and thus help to reduce causalities that are common as a result of armed conflicts and natural calamities. The modern society is characterized by armed conflicts due to ideological differences among people from different parts of the world.

Robots in the Education Sector

Robots are used to address problems that have been common in the education sector, for instance, teaching young children. Robots are used in schools to teach young children who are interested in technology rather than the traditional way of learning. The use of robots has an influence on children’s cognition, language, and interaction and moral development because children develop most of cognitions at a very tender age. The use of robots in the education sector helps to solve many problems that are common in the traditional classroom. The traditional classrooms are characterized with numerous problems because of the diverse abilities of various pupils. The use of Robots in teaching children has been used to address challenges that are rampant in the traditional classroom. Robots allow pupils to engage in new learning experiences because they make the learning process to be interactive and lively. Robots seem appropriate to use in language skill development because they allow for a richer interaction unlike the traditional methods of teaching (Emily Toh, Lai Poh et al 154).

Robots in the Manufacturing Industry

Robots are used in the manufacturing sectors to perform functions that could not be efficiently performed by human beings, for instance, Toyota Motor Corporation has made huge investments towards robotics. The company started investing in robotics as early as 1970s but huge strides were made in 1980s before the company embraced the technology in most of its duties thus helping to increase profits. Robots that are made by the company are design to perform tasks which are complex and cannot be effectively executed by human beings. The company has embraced the technology in that robots perform complex tasks like lifting heavy cargo and painting which cannot be performed by human beings. This ensures that human are not affected by the chemicals that are used in making paints and thus saving costs which could be used in treatment. The company has also started developing collaborative robots to help in reducing the labor costs that are needed if human beings are used. The robot technology has increased production, the quality of the parts, and the safety of workers in many companies across the globe (Carlino 30). The use of robots in many firms makes them to be profitable because they help in reducing the costs that are incurred in the process of producing goods and services.  Robots are the future of many industries because of the benefits that they come with like reducing the cost of production. Many firms are using robots to increase production and invest in the future because everything is going to be technology propelled in the near future. Soon every company that has an application for a robot will be forced to invest in one, to stay competitive in the world market. Robots are expected to take over many of the menial jobs that are performed by millions of people in many developing and industrialized countries (Martin 182).

Robots are being used to solve problems that face human beings in the contemporary society, for instance they are used to perform tasks that could not be effectively performed by human beings. Robots are being used to probe our solar system for signs of life, building cars at the General Motors plants, assembling in car manufacturing industries and defusing bombs that are mounted in hostile areas. Faster computer processors are being used to perform more complex actions quicker and at a less expensive price than in the past. The invention of robots is one of the greatest strides that humans have taken in technological advancement because of the benefits that the technology has come with, for instance solving problems in many sectors.
